Just when it looked as though genuine, big-scale slapstick routines – with
masses of paint and water – had disappeared altogether, here is Adams not only
sloshing the stuff around the entire stage by the barrow load (yes, literally) but
demonstrating a whole raft of brilliant clowning techniques with it.

No Circus Hilarious performance could possibly be complete without a
suitably chaotic slapstick routine involving much water and foam, liberally
shared with those in the first few rows of the audience… the kids simply love
the pre-interval total mayhem.

The Slosh scene is truly amazing. To see such masters of the craft like Clive
and Danny, assisted by our Company Stage Manager performing this routine
is worth the price of admission alone. The crew were watching every second, as
were the juveniles. Clive and Danny exit from the messiest slosh ever
performed.
…didn’t seem to mind the odd dousing with water and slosh even- game
old girls out for a good time!

Cinderella 2005
Away from the story line, there are some great scenes, a genuinely
side-splitting slapstick sketch involving paint, water and gunk.
Cinderella 2005
…..spraying the crowd with water and foam fights … made this a
must see event.

CLIVE WEBB (Baron Hardup) and DANNY ADAMS (BUTTONS) are
a rare father and son comedy act. They provided zany slapstick and
quick fire gags throughout. The well-worn wallpapering sequence never
disappoints and is invariably fresh to each new generation of kids.
“As always, Clive Webb portrayed the harassed figure of dignity, constantly reduced to
frustration and despair by the inane comedy of the supremely talented young comic,
his son Danny Adams, whose infectiously fresh personality pervades the whole show.”

“…Clive Webb, Danny Adams and the other comical characters of the show in
a breathless and breathtaking melange of comedy.”
....Danny Adams who turns in a show-stealing performance as Buttons… he
executes the comedy set pieces with aplomb…
The sheer quality of clowning in 2005 was a joy to behold…..
My overall favourites were Clive Webb & Danny Adams
Hilarious by name – hilarious by nature
The audience participation …. literally had tears rolling down my face
Express & Star
The undoubted stars were once again father and son duo
Clive Webb & Danny Adams and we have to ask “Is there a better comedy
twosome in the country?”
Express & Star
Father and son team Clive Webb and Danny Adams’ madcap mix of
tomfoolery and fluffed magic tricks has many unique aspects and they
left the audience in stitches
Sheer and obvious enjoyment
Wonderful slapstick comedy- brought howls of laughter from the audience
Their antics scale new heights of incredible controlled lunacy
Both children and adults screamed with laughter
Circus Hilarious is two hours of mad cap mayhem which allows the stars of the Theatre Royal
Pantomime the opportunity to bring their own show to the very venue they pack out every Christmas.
After a slightly slow start, the show settles down and delivers the laughs we have come to expect from the father and son team,
Clive Webb and Danny Adams. There are jokes and visual gags for all ages and it is more evident than ever that Danny Adams is
one of the leading comics in the UK today. While they have won many awards and pack out the Theatre Royal every Christmas,
Danny deserves to become a household name for his manic comedy.
Supporting Danny and Clive and Cousin Timoni, Mick Potts , Jonny Marx and a fabulous eccentric “Russian Professor” who
performs an excellent comedy trampoline act, which is in the true traditions of variety theatre. His comedy timing and skill were a
delight to watch.
There is plenty of audience participation and several male members found themselves hauled on stage
assisting Danny in a routine featuring a five foot unicycle.
There is no doubting Danny, is the star and the person the audience have come to see and he does not
fail to deliver. From sight gags to telling jokes, he has the ability to have the audience eating out the
palm of his hand and begging for more.
As the cast take their curtain call, we are clapping along to “Join the Circus” from the smash hit circus
musical Barnum and what better way is there to end a show set in a circus ring.
Circus Hilarious sets us up nicely for Clive and Danny returning in the pantomime Robin Hood later this
year and I for one am already counting the days.
